The Innovation Portal Community seeks to be a not-for-profit open innovation platform that brings entrepreneurship ecosystem stakeholders together for the benefit of innovators and entrepreneurs. It seeks to promote collaboration amongst public and private ecosystem stakeholders, to become that “one-stop shop” repository of information, opportunity, and network connection to help entrepreneurs and innovators along their journey. The digital community wishes to create a pathway for all Malawian entrepreneurs and innovators to effectively realise their vision.

The uncertainty of what steps to take or when to take them can lead to extended working hours, sometimes with those who may not fully grasp our aspirations for a brighter future. Patents: These are exclusive rights confered to inventors of new scientific products and processes 2. Industrial design: These are rights offered for new and original outward appearances of products 3. Trademark: These are rights offered for the use of symbols, signs that distinguish one good or services from others 4. Geographical Indications: Geographical indicators are used for products that have a specific origin and possess qualities because of that origin eg Champagne in France 5. Plant Breeders rights: means exclusive rights offered to breeders of new plant varieties. The list mentioned above requires registration for one to enjoy the rights.
